Oral Irrigators – Which One Is Right for Me?
I guess this article would be classified as a review of the hydro floss oral irrigator based on personal observation and use. This is a tool that should be talked about.
There was a time when my doctor (dentist) and her hygienist wanted me to take some action against my gum disease problem. They seemed very strong and even a bit forceful that I really needed this treatment.
Their plan involved something called a ‘scaling and root planing’. This is also referred to as a SRP.
I’d say that wasn’t what I wanted to hear. It just didn’t sound like it was something that I wanted to go through.
I was further unnerved upon hearing the assistant say that she would use nifty tools that she had special training to use in order to reach deep under my gums to remove a build up of debris called calculus (tartar). She also intended to make the surfaces smooth so that it would be harder for calculus build-up to return.
This procedure appeared to be even worse than I first imagined. It was no comfort to hear her say that she could numb my gums up so that I wouldn’t feel a thing!
I had a feeling that it was going to hurt a little when that medication finally wore off. This was not the kind of life experience that I would remember fondly.
The assistant was clear that If I chose to decline this treatment, they would not be responsible for what happened to my teeth. I needed to signify that I understood that by signing a waiver. Could things get any worse?
Candidly speaking, I imagined that I was becoming the victim of some slick marketing tactics. I really felt that this was some type of pushy marketing tactic.
Finally, there came a point that helped me to make up my mind. The hygienist told me that it would be best if they started today. She wanted to substitute this new treatment for my regular cleaning.
Her logic certainly seemed reasonable. She was stuck on a potential problem with insurance. If I chose to get the regular and standard cleaning done, my insurance could choose to not pay for the advanced treatment in the future.I really felt, at this point, that I really needed to think about this and I wasn’t willing to commit just yet.
I decided to decline because there was a strong sense inside me that this was not a good idea.Strangely, I never heard another word about that waiver.
The entire predicament seemed very surreal to me. There had to be another way for my gums to be healthy again.
I discovered that someone I knew had this procedure performed on her.She let me know that the outcome was less than desirable for her.
I searched around for an answer.I found the hydrofloss dental irrigator.I ordered one.
The day my package arrived containing the hydrofloss, I was very hopeful. I happened to know that the package should have arrived with an instructional video in it, but my package didn’t have one.
I sent off a request asking them to send me the missing video.I did not have any more issues after that and shortly received the video in the mail.I seemed to be a bit happy after watching the video.
I felt confident that this device was going to work for me.I began using it often every single day.
Approximately, twenty weeks later, I went back to visit the office of my dentist. Their reaction made me feel good.
The very same hygienist and doctor looked at my gums again. Each agreed that there was a vast improvement. In fact, they told me that there was no need for that scaling and root planing now.
You most likely realize that I was very, very happy to learn of my results. I still use the Hydro Floss irrigator daily, except when I am out of the country or my home town.
If you have been wondering if the HydroFloss is really worth it, let me tell you: In my opinion, it really is worth it! This opinion is simply built upon my experience with this device.
